Education Support

We have many services available for educational establishments on both a contractual and ad-hoc basis, and currently maintain nearly 30% of the Kirklees Primary Education Sector. Our flagship support services are being continually commended by our customers, and are recognised as such good value for money that all of our new business in this area is gained purely by verbal recommendation.

Having worked in high schools, we know the importance of a reliable computer expert in place to handle all problems, this is no different in a primary school. With the ever increasing pressures on teachers, the last thing they want is to have a problematic IT lesson. Our experience and expertise aid staff in using the computer network to its full potential, giving them the confidence that comes with knowing that a lesson will run smoothly.

By ensuring the same DBS-checked (formally CRB-checked) engineer visits in a weekly scheduled timeslot our schools know who will be visiting and when. But it doesn’t stop there. As all our engineers are in regular contact with each other they can be confident in knowing they have a skilled team of engineers supporting your school should something not have an immediate solution.

Technical Consultancy and Planning

We provide free consultancy and development planning to get the best out of your current computers and network, showing you where to head in the future with ever-changing technologies. We can also generate software and hardware quotes for anything from a mouse to a new ICT suite. Interactive whiteboards, LCD screens and projectors can also be purchased and installed by our hardware specialists.

Our tailored services allow our highly skilled technical engineers to provide services ranging from changing print cartridges to repairing entire networks. Specialising in schools with previously under maintained computers and networks allows us to turn around a failing situation rapidly, bringing stability and major improvements across the board. This allows teaching and non-teaching staff to feel confident in the technology they use to complete their job role.

Job System

We operate a simple online job system, where staff can note problems they have experienced and can also request work to be done. This system prevents problems from being missed and also allows us to update staff on how the solution is going. It also creates an invaluable inventory of all of your hardware, along with serial numbers and other important information, that is continuously updated as new hardware is added to your network.

All staff members are welcome to approach us in person with problems and requests. As we have set visiting times each week staff will recognise our friendly engineers and know exactly when we will be visiting.

There are times when certain technical jobs can’t be undertaken during the school term due to required network downtime. In these situations we offer extra visits in school holidays at a daily rate, regardless of how many engineers are on site undertaking the work to be completed.

During Ofsted visits to school, we want you to be safe in the knowledge that we will have an engineer available to you in case of emergency, before and during their visit. You can then be confident that you everything available to teach effectively.

Once a school is at full working capacity with their technology we often provide services to better the technology and technical understanding in the school. We offer training and installation of requested software packages during your allocated school visits to help you stay ahead of the curve.

‘We have used GCS for many years and have received and outstanding service.  We are a large primary school and have made very significant investment in ICT.  Amongst other things, GCS has supported us in implementing a whole school ICT strategy that includes the provision of individual netbook computers to 250 children and the installation of a robust wireless network covering the entire site.  The netbook project was complex and ambitious but GCS staff worked tirelessly to overcome any issues that arose.  We have employed ICT support from various suppliers over the years but I am entirely satisfied with the friendly, efficient and flexible service offered by GCS.  I would recommend their service to any school that is looking for a company that is prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ to deliver customer satisfaction.’

‘Global Computing Solutions have been providing our ICT technical support for a number of years. The service throughout has been nothing short of outstanding. Their technical knowledge and ability to fix problems quickly has been a real godsend for us. They take the time to listen and thoroughly understand the needs of our school, and actively find ways to save us money and provide our ICT infrastructure in as cost effective a way as possible. We cannot recommend them highly enough!’
