Meet the team

  • Gareth Jones – Director
  • Gareth first worked in the education sector in 2000 and quickly realised the need for a knowledgeable, honest and reliable ICT service for primary schools. Upon completing his degree he started Global Computing Solutions with his partner Gemma and worked hard to establish it as a leading name in the area. He strives to maintain and extend the company reputation by ensuring it keeps up-to-date with technologies whilst preserving the company values of friendly service and impartial advice.
  • Gemma Jones – Director
  • Gemma initially worked in secondary schools both in Kirklees and Nottingham councils. She then started the company with Gareth and used her experience to provide support to primary schools across local LEAs. With over 12 years of experience and qualifications in educational ICT she has the knowledge to get a school running efficiently and smoothly for staff and pupils.
  • Dominic Shaw – Director
  • Dom has worked in the education sector since 2006, being offered a job in a high school after completing a CISCO training module there. He has since worked in a couple of high schools, before joining Global as a director in 2009.
  • John Bottomley – Technical Support Manager
  • With over 20 years of computing experience John brings both a varied aptitude and a diverse knowledge base to the team. In his life to date he has undertaken a wide range of positions in both industry and education, with responsibilities varying from senior engineering to team management. He takes pride in representing the company on a daily basis and collaborating as it expands and aggrandizes.
  • Kyle Smith – Operations Manager
  • Kyle joined the company in 2012 after previously working in educational ICT support in Bradford. Continuing his development with Global by studying the Cisco CCNA course, he has an overall knowledge that ensures schools are maintained to their potential whilst being able to recommend improvements in line with the schools available means.
  • Gary Fan – Technical Support Engineer
  • Gary joined the company in 2015 after previously working in ICT help desk support in Bradford; continuing his development with Global by studying the Cisco CCNA course. Gary is determined and won’t stop until a resolution is found for the problem.  He also keeps himself up to date with the latest and greatest hardware to try out on projects.
  • Carl Barrowclough – ICT Educator / Technical Support Engineer
  • Carl has worked in education since 2009 and qualified as a teacher in 2011. Since 2015 he has worked as a Primary IT teacher, teaching IT and computing across the primary age range. He has enjoyed specialising in such an exciting and ever-changing area of education and loves finding new apps and hardware to use in his lessons. Carl has also developed a technical knowledge of IT through studying the Cisco CCNA and Cisco IT Essentials courses. His background as a teacher means he understands how important it is that IT runs smoothly so that it supports teaching and learning, not gets in the way.
  • Simon Hagerty – Technical Support Engineer
  • Simon joined the company in 2018 with a vast knowledge of computers, networks and telecoms. He enjoys a challenge and is determined to find solutions to even the trickiest of issues. With experience in the field in both business and education sectors, he ensures friendly customer service is always given.
